Welcome and thank you for visiting!
There are so many shops out there, so we feel extra lucky to have you here. Hope you find something you like! If you do, I hope you are willing to give us the opportunity to prove the quality of our work.
My wife has made homemade crafts for as long as I've known her. She has always enjoyed it. Now, not only does she enjoy it, but it takes her 'away' from everything else she has to deal with. It helps her in more ways than I can express. I have to help her more than she'd like, but she's no longer able to do everything herself. Everything we make is her design. I help her by sanding, cutting, painting and other duties as needed. Over time she has needed more and more help completing items. I never imagined being this involved with crafting, but I'm at her side. I know what it does for her, so there is no other place I'd rather be. We've been together for 30+ years now and another 30 years together wouldn't be enough time.
This is her story.
I'll start out by telling you that I love cards. I make them for every occasion and I give them for every occasion. Who doesn't light up when they get a card in the mail? I know it does it for me!
Before I started making cards, I would spend many hours in Hallmark. I'm part of a very large family so I bought lots & lots of cards. No matter what the occasion, my oldest sister and I always ended up getting the same card for our Dad. His birthday, Fathers Day, Christmas and so on. After years of that happening, although it was funny, I wondered how many times he got the same card over and over again.
I started making cards just for my Dad. He would have something that no one could duplicate. I would buy one card and make one card. My sister and I still ended up getting the same card more often then not, but from me he also got one card he wouldn't get from anyone else. My crafting spread out from there. I started making cards for other family members and friends. Then I got into other things. More and more ideas and all of a sudden I had special cabinets (Martha Stewart anyone?) for my supplies.
The first shadow box/flower box I made was for my Aunt. I wanted to send her flowers, but they never last. I wanted something she could see every day and know I was thinking about her. (She liked it so much she asked me to make another one so she could send it as a gift!) She was my inspiration for the flower shadow boxes in my shop.
My niece asked me if I would work with her to make her wedding invitations. Which ended up being more than invitations. The invitations, the ceremony programs, the plate setting menus, the seating tags and more! Her wedding was so very beautiful and.... it was featured in The Knot Magazine! (Published again in their hardcover book too.) How exciting!! Seeing items I created in the magazine was a little weird for me, but I felt honored too. We had a lot of ideas during that process, which inspired me to make even more items after that.
Many of the items I make have been inspired by gifts I've made for family and friends. I enjoy making crafts that are different and unique, but I don't make them in large quantities. Most of my products are not duplicated and there will only be one for sale. A few holiday items or specialty cards will have small/limited quantities. And all products in our shop are ready to ship.
I say 'Making handmade products & crafting is my medicine'. And it truly is. Over the last ten years my disability has made it much harder to do lots of things. And a couple of years ago I went through a rough time period fighting cancer. Thankfully I am in remission, but it takes a toll on ones mind and body. Making crafts is my medicine and because I very much enjoy making products for others, it lifts my spirits. When I can't work on projects, I'm thinking about them!
I want to offer one of a kind, quality items that you can add to your home or give as a gift. And I want you to get the product quickly. My husband, the 'Shipper', takes that job very seriously!
Many times my father had told me I should try and sell the items I've made. Over the years he would say "Just try it" and "See what happens." Well, maybe he's looking over my shoulder now saying... Finally. (Thank you for believing in me Dad!)
I have lots of people that support me & have encouraged me to take the next step. I have some very special friends and truly I wouldn't have remained so positive without their support. Then there is my spouse. Not enough words to express my thanks and gratitude. I wouldn't be able to craft anymore or sell the items we make without him! I thank all the special people in my life. All the support and encouragement I have gotten from loved ones has lead me here. Let's see how it goes! (Miss you Dad!!)
Thank you again for visiting and I hope you will check back often to see if any new items have been listed.
Come back soon!
